Hello, I'm Jessica! I graduated from Lock Haven University in the Spring of 2021 with a BS in Secondary Social Studies Education. I believe that understanding all aspects of social studies from history to geography to politics, is of the utmost importance especially in today's world.

During time at LHU, I took many courses on American and World History, as well as Geography, Economics, and Government. I tutored for history courses and worked with my professors during this time. I student taught the Spring Semester of my senior year at Sugar Valley Rural Charter school. I taught grades 9-12 in the content areas of: US History, Psychology, and Civics. I am able to make accommodations, modifications, and implement a wide variety of instruction for all learners.

I currently teach Civics and History. I love being able to teach students as they learn about the government and the world around them. teach my 8th graders about political parties, voting, government structure, founding documents, citizenship, and immigration, as well as a unit on Economics. I have completed my 2nd year as a civics and economics teacher in VA, as well 7th grade US History. I have experience working with ELL students ranging from beginners to Native fluency.

The most important steps in starting a career is having a resume that stands out to prospective employers. I believe resume writing is an art. I have worked with students and adults to create resumes that showcase your education, experience, and personality to catch the attention of employers. I also craft exciting cover letters and templates!
