My passion for language acquisition was born from real world experience outside of the classroom. It is my intention to bring that passion into my teaching as my personal love of language education pairs with my experience. Due to my travels down the arduous road of second language acquisition, I understand its bumps and turns and can better help my students. It is my priority to continue educating myself and sharpening my linguistic and pedagogical skills to grow personally and professionally.
Graduating from Eastern University with a MEd in Multicultural Education in 2013, I received certifications in Spanish K-12, ESL program specialist K-12, and English Language Arts 7-12. A few short weeks after graduating I was hired in a public high school to teach Spanish II, III, and IV as a long term substitute. I have since worked on the post-secondary level teaching ESL and on the secondary level as a full time Spanish teacher in a public school. I have been rewarded in so many ways by seeing my students grow in their linguistic skills while discovering a love for other cultures.
My educational journey through the many language classes I have learned the needed pedagogy and educational theory to be a qualified teacher. The real education started as I worked under the supervision of wonderful teachers who shared their philosophies of education and allowed me to teach in their classrooms while giving me timely feedback. I have worked in a classroom and one on one setting teaching ESL and have been evaluated by professors and administrators who have molded me into the teacher I am today.
Learning Spanish has been a passion of mine since "hola" and my dedication to learning the language has only grown since. I have taught almost every level of Spanish in the high school setting allowing me to understand the whole picture of language education.
I have a flexible schedule and will be happy to travel to meet for tutoring. It would be my pleasure to work with any level of Spanish or English abilities. I look
