I have the hands-on experience of having taught children in grades k-2 to read for many years. Most of my former students could not produce the sounds of individual letters when we started our lessons. When I send them off to another teacher they are readers. This, I feel is what qualifies me to teach reading more than my degrees. However, I have continued my education throughout my years of teaching and attended 3 PA Governor's Institutes on early literacy skills.
I have a BA in Special Education, have written countless IEPS, have worked with children with learning differences for many years, and have developed behavior plans for students with attention difficulties.
I can help your child learn to read given the opportunity, and commitment from student, parent and myself. I will design a program that will require hard work but will be fun and age appropriate.
