Welcome!

I know that it can be difficult to say you need a tutor, but it is the best gift you can give yourself. My job is to give you the tools and confidence to be successful in any subject. Your job is to listen and be willing to do the work. I believe that we can make that happen.

Welcome!

I know that it can be difficult to say you need a tutor, but it is the best gift you can give yourself. My job is to give you the tools and confidence to be successful in any subject. Your job is to listen and be willing to do the work. I believe that we can make that happen.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sign Language Interpreting and a Master's Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology, and a Doctorate Degree in Special Education. I am a level 2 certified educator in the areas of Elementary Education grades K-6, Special Education grades N-12, and Mid-level English grades 7-9. I have worked in various areas and schools in the Central Pennsylvania region. I have taught 4th and 5th grade, Middle School Learning Support, 7th grade English, Deaf Education at the High School level, Emotional Support at the Middle and High School Level, and currently I am in a position where I teach every grade and every subject needed for the students I serve.

I truly love what I do! At one time in my life I needed a tutor myself. It empowered me and gave me skills that I needed to be able to go to college and feel good about myself. I hope you have the same outlook on what you need and how you can help yourself. It is a step in the right direction, and you have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will reach your destination.

Good Luck in Your Endeavors!

Study Skills

Study Skills

During my 10 years of teaching I have taught study skills in every class I have taught. It is a valuable life lesson on how to be productive with a heavy work load. I teach the importance of time management skills, how to organize ones subjects that need to be studied, and the importance of having an agenda, and to follow it! Also, the use of mnemonic devices for math, and context clues for vocabulary in reading practice is essential. When teaching just a few of the strategies named, which there are many more, consistency is the key to the success of the student.
