Hello, I'm Hannah! I am a certified science teacher with a B.S. in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and a Master’s in Education with certification in grades 7–12 biology and general science. I have gained experience through full-time student teaching in middle school science and high school biology classes, as well as over a year of substitute teaching across multiple school districts. I’ve worked successfully with a wide range of students, including English language learners and students with IEP/504 accommodations.
My approach to teaching and tutoring focuses on making science feel clear, approachable, and less overwhelming. I know science can sometimes feel daunting or like it’s almost a different language, so I will work with you to break down complex concepts into step-by-step explanations. I like to use visuals, real-world examples, and inquiry-based learning to help students build true understanding of the material, not just memorization.
In tutoring sessions, I focus on each student’s goals, whether that’s homework help, test prep, or strengthening foundational science skills. I start by learning how each student learns best so we can make the time together as effective as possible. My goal is to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and leave each session feeling more confident in biology and science.
