My name is Maddie! I hold certifications in Elementary Education and Special Education in the state of Maryland. I am currently a general education second-grade teacher in a Maryland county and have four years of classroom teaching experience.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students primarily between the ages of 7–8 years old in a self-contained classroom setting, supporting a wide range of academic abilities, learning styles, and individual needs. My experience includes whole-group instruction, small-group intervention, and one-on-one support, as well as collaboration with special educators, related service providers, and families to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and support.
My teaching approach is grounded in the belief that every child is capable of learning, though not always in the same way or at the same pace. I prioritize building strong relationships with students and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to take risks. I intentionally incorporate humor, engagement, and creativity into instruction to keep learning fun while still maintaining high expectations. Lessons are designed to be accessible, differentiated, and appropriately challenging, allowing students to grow academically while building confidence and motivation.
I am excited to have the opportunity to help your child! Please reach out with any questions!
