I hold a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and a master’s degree in Middle Grades Education, which together give me a strong foundation in both the craft of writing and effective strategies for teaching young adolescents. My academic background, combined with ongoing professional development in literacy instruction, equips me to support students in developing reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in a way that is engaging and accessible.

In my current role as a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher, I work daily with middle school students to strengthen their reading comprehension, writing abilities, and analytical thinking. My approach is student-centered and adaptable, incorporating guided practice, collaborative discussion, and real-world applications to make lessons meaningful. When tutoring one-on-one or in small groups, I tailor lessons to each student’s needs, whether supporting struggling readers or providing enrichment for advanced learners.

With over six years of teaching and tutoring experience, primarily with students aged 10–14, I have worked in both classroom and individualized settings. This experience has taught me how to adjust instruction to different learning styles, foster student confidence, and create a supportive environment where learners feel empowered to take risks and grow. My goal is always to equip students with not only academic skills but also the confidence and tools to succeed independently.
