“**Fabulous teacher!**”

Hello! My name is Bethann and I am a 2013 graduate from a prestigious online university located in Salt Lake City. I have had years of experience in the classroom, both as a teacher and as a substitute. My certificate is valid and covers mathematics for grades 7-12 in Pennsylvania, however; I am happy to teach younger students as well. I also

I should have written a review for Bethann long ago. Bethann is a wonderful person, teacher, and tutor. She has a gift for making a subject interesting and exciting. My son has been working with her on geometry since the spring and he loves it. He truly looks forward to their tutoring sessions and he is excited about geometry. Thanks!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra I is my best subject. I have taught the class many times in the past 6 months in a local private school and own a textbook series and other resources for the subject to aid the tutoring sessions if needed. I am skilled in completing algebraic problems using different methods as well as on paper or through a calculator. I have tutored students in the area of Algebra I and have seen great success with the methods that I implement and this subject area.

I have spent the past few months teaching Calculus I and Calculus II to a total of 15 students. I introduced differential equations to the Calculus I class and have been working on more in-depth work involving differential equations and integrals with the Calculus II.

I have spent a few months substituting in Elementary schools across York/Adams Counties. During these days, I have had to teach Elementary math just as often as any of the other lower level subjects. I am quickly learning to relate this type of math to real-world items, even if it is something as simple as counting the number of apples rather than adding two numbers together without any connection for the younger students.

Half of my teaching experience has been in my own geometry classroom, so I am very familiar with the subject and how to help students understand it. I have access to a geometry textbook that is accurate and up-to-date with the majority of school systems' classes. Over my time as a teacher, I have also gathered many other useful geometry resources which I can utilize to help students understand the subject even more. I have testing materials, problems to work through, and other items that I will be glad to individualize and set up for any student as it fits their needs and goals.

I have taught mathematical word problems involving logic to many students over the years. I can not only help with mathematics problems and topics involving logic, but can apply logic to other situations as well. To begin any tutoring session with a student, I will use logic and the student's learning abilities to set up a schedule with the student for tutoring, homework, and studying that meets their needs and will fit easily into their lives.

I have worked with students in Probability and Statistics over the past 3 years as their teacher. I also took AP probability and stats as a freshman in high school and have taken it at a college level as well.

I spent almost 2 months tutoring an SAT math student who was a senior in high school and they often commented that they felt more confident going into the test after having worked with me. The student's grades were also much improved after retaking the test. I have also run SAT prep classes at my school, based upon the new SAT. I myself have taken the SAT math test multiple times, and first scored high as a sixth grade student. I know of resources that will be used during the tutoring sessions to help a student, but can also give them new ways to study on their own for these tests.

I have taught Probability and Statistics to seniors in high school for the past 3 years. In addition, I have taken Probs. & Stats. multiple times, beginning when I was a freshman in high school.

In order to earn my certificate as a Secondary Education teacher in Pennsylvania, I had to complete multiple college courses in order to learn about different types of students, different learning styles, and different study skills. I am practiced in applying the information learned in these courses to help students create the best study plan possible for themselves. I am also able to teach new study skills and make suggestions on what may be best for a particular student's studying needs.
