I am a college student at the University of Maryland, pursuing a degree in Business Information Systems with a focus on Data Science. My strong academic background in mathematics, physics, and computer science has equipped me with a solid foundation to guide students through complex topics in a clear and approachable way. I have always enjoyed breaking down challenging concepts into understandable steps, which helps students not only solve problems but also gain confidence in their abilities.

I have several years of tutoring and teaching experience, working with students ranging from middle school to high school. My approach emphasizes hands-on learning and interactive problem-solving, encouraging students to ask questions and explore multiple methods to arrive at a solution. I tailor each session to the student’s needs, focusing on building both conceptual understanding and practical skills. Over the years, I have conducted one-on-one tutoring sessions as well as small group study sessions, helping students prepare for exams, improve grades, and develop long-term study strategies.

Beyond academics, I strive to make learning engaging and relevant. I incorporate real-world examples and step-by-step explanations, ensuring that students not only memorize procedures but also understand the reasoning behind them. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable tackling difficult topics and celebrating their progress along the way.

I have experience mentoring high school students through the college application and interview preparation process. Through my own admissions journey, including receiving a transfer admission pathway to Carnegie Mellon University, I developed a strong understanding of how competitive universities evaluate applicants. I have mentored students who were later admitted to universities including the University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and University of Maryland. My sessions include mock interviews, structured answer development, and feedback to help students confidently communicate their experiences and goals.
Computer Science

Computer Science

I passed both AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles and have strong experience applying those concepts through real-world coding projects. I have built machine learning and computer vision systems using Python, TensorFlow, Keras, and OpenCV, including a weapon detection algorithm and an American Sign Language recognition system that converts hand gestures into speech and text. I also developed an application designed to stimulate memory in dementia patients using eye-tracking technology and algorithmic analysis. Through these projects and coursework, I developed strong skills in algorithms, programming, and software development, which I use to help students understand both core computer science concepts and practical coding applications.
Data Science

Data Science

I study Data Science alongside Business Information Systems and have extensive experience applying Python, machine learning, and computational modeling to real research projects. In collaboration with the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute, I conducted computational drug discovery research where I screened over 100,000 drug compounds using molecular docking simulations to identify potential inhibitors for beta-amyloid protein linked to Alzheimer’s disease. I analyzed large datasets from these simulations to identify top candidate compounds based on binding affinity and molecular interactions. I also develop machine learning models and data analysis pipelines using tools such as Python, TensorFlow, and SQL to solve complex real-world problems.
