I am currently teaching my 10th year in Kindergarten in a public school district located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. I have experience tutoring students to help them prepare them for state testing (the PARCC testing), building confidence for struggling readers and math students, as well as, challenging and enriching students with advanced academic abilities. Every tutoring session is customized to the student's specific needs and to the parent's expectations. I believe in working with the student's teacher to create a tutoring session that seamlessly integrates lessons learned in class with ways to bridge gaps or enrich. I strive to meet parents' expectations as well as make the learning fun and engaging for the student.
I am well versed in the Common Core Standards, as I use them on a daily basis to plan my lessons, units, and year for my students.
I have been an elementary school teacher for 15 years and have worked with all elementary grade levels (pre-k to 5th grade), as well as tutor students up to 8th grade.
