I have been a private tutor in Medical Coding for the past two years, and I have successfully assisted six students to pass their CPC exams. I have taught medical billing and coding classes at two of the local business schools. I am the former President of the AAPC Erie Chapter. I continue to attend seminars and enroll in certificate courses through the AAPC. I recently received my CPMA designation. I have tutored English as a volunteer for a special needs program where students had either minor learning disabilities or difficulty speaking the English language.
I enjoy tutoring students and watching them achieve success. I accommodate the specific needs and learning style of the student. I am proud to be part of the success my former coding students had in passing the CPC exam and obtaining jobs in the medical coding field. I am active in networking environments and guide the students on how to leverage the necessary networks for potential job opportunities and continued education.
I am certified through the AAPC as an Instructor and have recently obtained my CPMA certification. I am currently organizing workshops in 2026 for coders and billers to learn or refresh their knowledge in E/M coding, ICD-10-CM coding, IOM, modifier utilization, showing proper usage of medical references, and the importance of NCCI edits and utilization.
I am a writer of poetry and short stories, and I get my inspiration from reading and people-watching. I appreciate the uniqueness of everyone, and those qualities and personalities sometimes make it into my stories.
