About Barbara

Bio

I have twenty years in the accounting/bookkeeping field and I am a Certified Payroll Specialist, Certified Professional Bookkeeper and Certified QuickBooks Advisor through the NACPB. My desire to teach math, personal finance, and other subjects comes from homeschooling my children (now teenagers) for 6+ years. My oldest daughter is now a proud Penn State student and has received a full scholarship! I have coached her in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and College Algebra.

Besides tutoring academics, I also tutor college students in QuickBooks software and accounting.
I own a bookkeeping company, in which I assist: my own clients with their bookkeeping/accounting needs, CPA's with their client's books, and other bookkeepers who have bookkeeping needs/issues that they can't resolve on their own. I am knowledgeable in QuickBooks Desktop 1999-current (I have clients with all different versions!) and QuickBooks Online. I hail from SE Florida (although now a Penn resident) and have received my B.A. in Business Management from NSU.

I have worked in the accounting and payroll field for over 20 years. I am a Certified Bookkeeper and Certified Payroll Specialist with the National Association of Certified Bookkeepers. Last year, I started my own small bookkeeping practice, in which I use QB online and QB 2015 with my clients.

I was a professional singer for over 20 years with a company called Sound Relations DJ's and Entertainers and was the lead singer in a few local bands. I had professional singing lessons in Miami for a year and a half during my late teen years. I have always wanted to coach so I held a class for elementary school children teaching them breathing exercises, singing techniques, how to hear harmonies, microphone techniques, and so on. I would like to go back to coaching, since singing has always been a part of my life.

Barbara taught me the basic set up of QB. SHE was hands on explaining everything in laymen's terms but let me do the work would highly recommend her to anyone looking to understand QB in greater detail

Offers Extremely Helpful Infomation and Assistance for All Levels

Barbara was able to explain how to record tenant security deposits and refunds. She also helped me with the Chart of Accounts and reducing the number of them by renaming, combining and making others inactive. She was extremely patient and able to explain to me although I have no accounting background and am new to QuickBooks.
