Hello all, my name is Matthew and I am a graduate student from The Pennsylvania State University. I received my bachelor's degree in 2024 for Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. Hello all, my name is Matthew and I am a graduate student from The Pennsylvania State University. I received my bachelor's degree in 2024 for Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed being able to educate myself on various topics to the point where I can one day give back the knowledge I have gained to someone else who is in need of it.

At The Pennsylvania State University, I was a mentor of organizations such as STEP-UP (Student Transition Engineering Program at University Park) and MEPO (Multi-Cultural Engineering Program Orientation) which invites incoming freshman and transitioning students from branch colleges to PSU and serves as an orientation for them to be welcomed. At STEP-UP, the orientation was set up through ZOOM so being able to communicate and navigate through an online platform is something I am versed in as well. At MEPO, many of the activates set involved problem solving, team management, and critical thinking for the students, in which I would preside over to help at any given time. All these mentorship opportunities were granted to me through being promoted by NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers), which I was also a board member of.

Beyond the scope of just mathematics, physics, statistics, and other STEM categories, I have always loved teaching other people what I know. For example, I love to play the guitar and bass, play basketball, and video games, which are activities I excel at and have been on the tutoring side of it as well with family members, friends, etc. all my life.

I have always actively helped classmates, family members, and friends in the education that I received throughout my college experience whether it be for homework, studying for an exam, finishing a lab, or simply attempting to understand a concept. Tutoring and guidance is something I have not done professionally until now, but it is also something that is not foreign to me and I am ready to lend a hand through Wyzant now!
