Hello, I’m Tafannum!
I’m a first-generation college graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Throughout my academic journey, I made full use of every resource available to me—including tutoring sessions. I found that the most impactful tutors were those who were passionate, engaged, and willing to go the extra mile. Their dedication shaped my own approach to teaching: one that is informative, rigorous, and fun! I design structured lesson plans and questions aligned with course curriculum to build both knowledge and comprehension. To keep learning engaging, I implement creative methods like games and drawings. However, I always tailor my approach to fit each student’s individual learning style and pace—because their success is my top priority!
With four years of experience as a private community tutor, I’ve had the opportunity to work one-on-one with students virtually, many of whom I supported across multiple subjects over extended periods. These long-term relationships helped me better understand individual learning needs and build trust. My primary focus has been on math, ranging from elementary to high school levels. Additionally, I served a year as a supplemental instruction leader in physics and a teaching assistant for biology lab during college. Working with both younger and older students has helped me develop the flexibility and adaptability essential for effective teaching. I also strongly value open communication with parents and students alike, as I believe collaboration and feedback are key to academic growth.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or to book a session—I look forward to supporting your learning journey!
