Hello! My name is Jazmine and I am so happy you have found my tutor page! I work with a variety of students teaching a variety of subjects; however, I prefer to work with elementary and middle school students focusing on Math, English, Reading, and Writing. I have about 10 years of tutoring experience including experience working with students with ADD, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from Wagner College and have taken many different education and child development courses as well.

I am based out of Bucks County, PA, and will work with students anywhere in the US. I am currently available for online-only lessons. If I decide to offer local in-person lessons in the future, I will update my profile.

I am a firm believer that everyone should have access to the best education possible and it shouldn’t be outrageously expensive. That is why my rates are considerably lower than most tutors. I offer quality teaching at the fraction of the cost and I am willing to negotiate rates for students and their families if they are struggling financially.

I also offer a discounted rate for groups of two or more. A session with two students would be $45 per hour and any session with three to five students would be $75 per hour. That is less than what it would cost if those students came to me individually. And my negotiation policy for financially challenged students still applies to group rates as well.

My junior year of high school I took a school-age child development class. In that class I did an intensive research project on childhood ADD/ADHD; however, a lot of my knowledge of the condition was gained by working with children with the disorder. My 10-year-old niece has a slight case of ADHD and babysitting her has taught me a lot. My sophomore year of high school I volunteered at a daycare/preschool where a lot of the children had special needs and I also tutored elementary school students in a special ed class and some of the children had some form of attention and hyperactivity disorder.

Similar to Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 is a foundational course. Without it, students cannot succeed in higher level math and science classes. Out of any other math, the concepts involved in it are no doubt the most used in and out of the classroom. I have about 2 years experience tutoring Algebra, 5 years experience working with students with learning difficulties, and overall 10 years of tutoring experience.

I fell in love with grammar at an early age and have studied it for many years. I am always refreshing my memory and correcting people (some to their dismay). I’ve never formally taught grammar, but I do have 10 years of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects, including reading and writing.

I have two years experience in an elementary school’s after school homework help program working with children age 7 to 12 on math, spelling, reading, and occasionally social studies. I spent one month in a classroom placement in which I co-led a small group of 2nd graders in a reading circle that involved each student taking turns reading aloud pages from a short book. Upon finishing the book, the students would do a short activity (usually writing) and we’d have a discussion about both the book and the assignment pertaining to it. I also spent the last 2 years tutoring a student in reading skills

Lesson plans are thorough and organized!

My husband and I were very fortunate to find Jazmine on WyzAnt to tutor my 15-year-old daughter in Spanish. I looked for a local Spanish tutor for some time and could not find anyone who was nearby and within my budget. Jazmine began by evaluating my daughter's knowledge to determine her current level before proceeding. She makes Spanish fun and incorporates many different methods to teach, including movies, videos and articles, in addition to traditional methods such as flashcards, worksheets, quizzes and tests. She also accommodates my hectic schedule, and she always has a smile on her face! Jazmine is an excellent communicator. She plans her sessions in advance and sends a detailed email to me ahead of time so that I know what they will be working on. She also sends me a review after each class. I strongly recommend Jazmine for anyone who is seeking a Spanish tutor!
