I’ve been teaching art for over 20 years, and it’s something I genuinely love doing. I earned my degree in art education and have spent my career working mostly in school settings with students ranging from elementary through high school. Over the years, I’ve taught everything from foundational art classes to more advanced courses in graphic design and digital media. My experience includes drawing, painting, ceramics, art history, and working with Adobe programs like Photoshop and Illustrator, so I’m comfortable helping students explore both traditional and digital art.
In my classroom, I focus on making art feel approachable and engaging. I know that not every student comes in feeling confident about their abilities, so I work hard to create a supportive environment where they can experiment, make mistakes, and grow. I use a mix of demonstrations, guided practice, and individualized feedback to meet each student where they are. Because I’ve worked with a wide range of ages and skill levels, I’ve learned how to adjust my teaching style to fit each learner, whether they need step-by-step guidance or more creative freedom.
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the chance to work one-on-one and really connect with students. Whether someone is just starting out, trying to improve their skills, or working on a specific project, I like helping them build confidence and find their own artistic voice. My goal is always to make learning art feel less intimidating and more enjoyable while helping students develop skills they can be proud of
