Hello! My name is Elisa and I am excited to support others with their educational goals! I have over 18 years of experience working with children, more than 13 years of experience in a school setting, and 10 years of teaching experience, focusing mostly in Special Education. I have taught autistic support, learning support, and emotional support in grades ranging from K-6.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master's degree in Education from Arcadia University. My current teaching certifications are Pre-K-4 General Education and Pre-K-8 Special Education, and I'm working towards a certification in Special Education 7-12. I currently work in a public school district, where I have been happily employed for 12 years.
Learning is a passion of mine, and I love to learn, as well as learn from others while supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally. I have been babysitting since I was a teenager, and have been tutoring since I was in college. I am able to assist in all elementary subjects, as well as special education, test preparation, and executive functioning skills including organization and time management.
My heart belongs in autistic support, and I especially enjoy working with students who have intellectual and/or learning disabilities. My approach is student-centered and I strive to proactively promote a student's strengths and interests while supporting challenges and strategically implementing interventions and learning techniques. I am available in person and online, and will work to meet your needs in a seamless, comfortable, and productive manner.
My personal interests include British Medieval History and all things Disney. I look forward to meeting you and learning about your interests too!

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have a Master's degree in Education with a dual certification in Gen Ed Pre-K-4 and Special Ed Pre-K-8. I have over 14 years of experience working with students who have autism, ranging from pre-k-through high school and post 18/transition. I have taught public school autistic support classrooms K-2, 3-5, and 4-6. I have 4 years of experience working with students in autistic support at the high school level, ranging from ages 15-22. This experience includes a wide range of abilities, and supports including academic, social, emotional, and behavioral support. I have taught autistic support during the school year as well as Extended School Year (over the summer). Additionally, I have a 14-year-old child who has autism, which has given me invaluable experience in how to support the whole child, learning to meet each person where they are, interact in a way that supports each unique individual, and using strategies specific to the needs of each student.

Special Needs

I have extensive experience working with students who have special needs. I have worked with children in pre-k through post high school transition, as well as adults. I have experience with a wide variety of special needs including autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, fragile-x, dyslexia, and other cognitive challenges. Additionally, my 14-year-old child has special needs, allowing me to view challenges through the lens of a parent as well as an educator.
