For 2024, I am accepting students who need help with college essay writing or other short-term essay assignments.

Throughout my teaching and tutoring career, I have worked with students of all ages (from preschool to college-aged). I have 17 years of experience teaching high school English (grades 11 and 12).

I am a lifelong learner and recently completed my Masters in English from Harvard Extension School. You can be sure that I can provide writing support across multiple subject areas, especially analytical essays and college essays.

I enjoy working with students who are yearning to write better, whether it be for one essay (especially the college application essay) or for a challenging English course. I am also a fellow of the National Writing Project and enjoy working with students on learning to love writing again (or for the first time) through creative writing exercises.

I have experience teaching 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. If you need reading and writing tutoring, I am able to look at the big picture and identify writing goals as well as make sure a student is prepared for future schooling.

I have experience teaching major texts from the canon. From American classics like The Great Gatsby to old British favorites like Beowulf, I am well-read and have spent many years becoming familiar with texts that are commonly taught in schools.

As a young journalism student I spent years working as an editorial assistant. Since then, I have spent each fall examining student essays to help seniors improve word choice, grammar, and overall style in writing.

Each student is different when it comes to the reading test; luckily, the test is predictable. I will work to evaluate current strategies and trouble areas and formulate the best plan for reading sections for test day. We will also build on vocabulary during every session.

From mini-grammar lessons to reading and evaluating essays, I will help your student gain confidence on the writing section. This school year marks my 6th year tutoring students in SAT writing.

I have experience working with students from K-college in academic and test areas. I worked at Huntington Learning Center and monitored student progress as they worked on homework, offering enrichment and activities for students to continue to grow academically. I have also worked in a Boys and Girls Club after school program where I assisted students in organizing their assignments, managing their time, and making study guides for themselves. I am in my 6th year of teaching high school English and constantly offer my students options and strategies for preparing for vocabulary and writing exams.

Five star English tutor

Christina is a very nice and patient English teacher. It is her teaching that has changed my kid and now he is interested in English writing and reading. Almost every week my child is looking forward to his private lessons. As a parent, I am very happy that we have Christina as our long term tutor. With the help of Christina, the parents need not worry about the child's study. It is hard to find a good teacher, but Christina is truly a good one!

Great Tutor. Great Experience.

We had searched for a local tutor for my son to help improve his test scores for the Verbal SAT's. It was difficult to find someone and I stumbled upon WyzAnt tutoring and read the review for Christina P. Her profile seem to fit our needs. I contacted her and she got back to me immediately. We set up a time and place for meeting and she met with my son every week with lessons. He loved her. She sent me a review lesson on what they covered and sent him the answers so he could check him self. He made great progress and his confidence improved. Christina had a flexible schedule and I thought a very reasonable rate. My son recently completed his SAT's so we are awaiting his scores but he did take his ACT's and his Reading score improved 4 points so we were thrilled.
