My passion for tutoring began during my undergraduate years at Arizona State University, where I worked as a supplemental instructor for Physics I and II. Even before that, I tutored elementary students in math, and today I continue working with young learners—including my own children—in math and English. I’ve also tutored high school students in math, and college students in chemistry, physics, grammar, and writing. I enjoy assisting with college application essays and specialize in standardized exam prep, including the SAT, MCAT, GRE, GED, and TEAS. I scored in the 98th percentile on the TEAS and passed the Medical Laboratory Technologist certification exam through the American Society for Clinical Pathology. In addition, I taught Clinical Chemistry for three semesters at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.
As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine currently applying to residency with a strong interest in emergency and internal medicine, I especially enjoy helping students with a true interest in medicine, nursing, or allied health excel in the areas they need to pass exams and move forward. As a non-traditional learner myself, I welcome and encourage adult learners at any stage. At the same time, as a mom of three elementary-aged children—one with a speech disorder—I have a deep appreciation for supporting younger learners and helping them build a strong foundation. Having navigated the challenges of high school myself, I also understand the value of academic support and enjoy helping high school students gain an edge in their education. I offer both online and in-person tutoring, and I’m happy to travel up to 30 miles for the right student or family.
