I have spent 19 years in process improvement and data analytics, most of it inside finance and operations teams at large companies in manufacturing, financial services, and logistics. I hold a BA in English Literature & Commerce from Bethlehem University, an MS in Supply Chain and Logistics Management from the University of Strathclyde, and an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, along with a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and PMP certification. Excel and Power BI are tools I use every working day to build reports, clean data, and make decisions, and the Six Sigma and PMP exams are ones I have passed myself and helped colleagues prepare for.

For the past 15 years, teaching has been a regular part of my work. I train colleagues and team members one on one and in small groups on Excel, reporting, and Power BI, onboard new analysts, and have coached a handful of people through Green Belt and Black Belt certification. I have also tutored friends and family informally. What I learned from all of it is simple: people remember what they use, not what they are shown. So I don't teach from a generic lesson plan. I start with your actual spreadsheet, your actual report, or your actual exam outline, and we work on that. If you're learning Excel for your job, we build the thing you need at your job. If you're preparing for the PMP or a Six Sigma exam, we work through the concepts using the kind of questions you'll actually face, and I explain the reasoning behind the answers, not just the answers.

I tutor Excel, Power BI, Lean Six Sigma exam prep, and PMP exam prep for working adults, college students, and anyone moving into analytics or project management. Arabic is my native language, so I'm happy to teach in Arabic or English. I'm patient, direct, and practical. My goal in every session is that you leave able to do something you couldn't do an hour earlier, and that you can do it again without me.

Approved Subjects

Arabic

Arabic

Arabic is my native language, and I was educated in Arabic through secondary school before completing a BA in English Literature at Bethlehem University, which gave me formal grounding in both languages and in how they differ structurally. I have worked bilingually across my career in the Middle East and the United States, using Arabic in professional and technical contexts as well as everyday conversation, and I am a native speaker of the Levantine dialect alongside Modern Standard Arabic. My tutoring covers the alphabet and script, reading and writing, pronunciation, grammar including verb forms and case endings, vocabulary building, and conversational practice, and I can teach either Modern Standard Arabic for academic and formal use or Levantine dialect for everyday speaking. I work with complete beginners, students in Arabic coursework, heritage speakers who understand more than they can read or write, and professionals preparing for work or travel in the region.
Business

Business

I have spent 19 years in business operations, finance, and supply chain roles at Lutron Electronics, FIS, and DP World, where I currently work as a Continuous Improvement Manager leading process and performance improvement projects. I hold an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University and an MS in Supply Chain and Logistics Management from the University of Strathclyde, along with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and PMP certifications. My daily work covers the same material business students study in operations management, strategy, process improvement, and business analytics courses, and I have trained and coached cross-functional teams on these methods for years. I help students connect frameworks like SWOT, process mapping, root cause analysis, KPI development, and financial analysis to real workplace situations so the concepts stick beyond the exam. I teach Lean Six Sigma: DMAIC, Green Belt and Black Belt exam prep, I hold a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma since 2012.
Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I hold an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University and have spent 19 years turning operational and financial data into decisions at Lutron Electronics, FIS, and DP World. My daily work as a Continuous Improvement Manager involves cleaning messy datasets, building Power BI dashboards, running statistical analysis in Excel, and using Python and R for regression, forecasting, and classification work. I teach the full analysis workflow rather than isolated functions, covering how to frame a question, structure and clean the data, choose the right method, and interpret results honestly, including what the numbers do not support. Students working through coursework, capstone projects, or real workplace datasets get help that connects the statistics to the actual decision being made. I build and teach Power BI — data models, measures, dashboards — and Excel reporting, with 19 years doing it in finance and operations.
Data Science

Data Science

I hold an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, where my coursework covered regression, classification, time series forecasting, unsupervised learning, and the statistical foundations underneath them. I apply these methods in practice as a Continuous Improvement Manager, using Python and R to build predictive and diagnostic models on real operational and financial data across 19 years at Lutron Electronics, FIS, and DP World. I teach data science as an end-to-end process: framing the problem, exploring and preparing the data, selecting and validating a model, and interpreting results with honest attention to assumptions, overfitting, and what the model cannot tell you. Students in graduate or undergraduate coursework, career changers building a portfolio, and working professionals applying these methods on the job all get help that connects the math to the decision it is meant to support.
Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel

I have used Excel daily for 19 years as an analyst and Continuous Improvement Manager at Lutron Electronics, FIS, and DP World, building the financial models, operational dashboards, and reporting tools that leadership actually makes decisions from. My working range covers formulas and functions, lookups with VLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH, PivotTables and PivotCharts, conditional formatting, data validation, Power Query for cleaning and reshaping messy data, and statistical analysis for forecasting and variance work. I hold an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, so I teach Excel in the context of the questions it is meant to answer rather than as a list of features. I work with students in coursework, professionals who need to be faster and more accurate at work, and anyone rebuilding a spreadsheet that has grown into a mess.
Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project

I am a PMP-certified project manager with 19 years of experience planning and running cross-functional projects at Lutron Electronics, FIS, and DP World, including large-scale transformation initiatives spanning multiple countries. My work involves building and maintaining project schedules, defining task dependencies and critical paths, allocating resources across competing priorities, setting baselines, and tracking variance against plan. I teach Microsoft Project as a tool for real schedule management rather than a set of menu commands, covering work breakdown structures, dependency types, resource leveling, baseline comparison, and how to read what the schedule is actually telling you. Students preparing for the PMP exam, taking project management coursework, or building a live schedule for work get help grounded in how these tools are used in practice.
Project Management

Project Management

I am a PMP-certified project manager with 19 years of experience leading cross-functional projects at Lutron Electronics, FIS, and DP World, including multi-country transformation initiatives across finance, supply chain, and technology functions. I also hold a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and an MS in Supply Chain and Logistics Management from the University of Strathclyde, which gives me depth in both the process and delivery sides of project work. My coverage spans the full lifecycle: scope definition and work breakdown structures, scheduling and critical path, resource and budget planning, risk registers, stakeholder management, change control, and closeout, along with agile and hybrid delivery approaches. I work with students in project management coursework, professionals preparing for the PMP or CAPM exam, and people who need to run a real project at work and want practical structure rather than terminology. I coach people preparing for the PMP exam, including the exam structure, the process groups, and situational question strategy, and that you hold the PMP
Python

Python

I hold an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, where Python was central to the modeling and machine learning coursework, and I use it in applied analytics work as a Continuous Improvement Manager. My teaching covers the language fundamentals of data types, mutability, scope and the LEGB rule, functions and closures, comprehensions, and the object model, alongside the data stack of pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, and scikit-learn. I place particular emphasis on the concepts that quietly cause bugs rather than errors, including reference versus copy semantics, mutable default arguments, and shallow versus deep copying. I work with students in programming and data science coursework, career changers building portfolio projects, and analysts moving into Python from Excel or R.
R

R

I hold an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, where R was a primary tool across the statistics and modeling coursework, and I have used it since in applied analytics work as a Continuous Improvement Manager. My working range covers the fundamentals of vectors, factors, lists and data frames, subsetting and indexing, control flow and the apply family, along with the statistical work students most often need: t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square, linear and logistic regression, and model diagnostics. I also work in ggplot2 and base graphics for visualization, dplyr and tidyr for data manipulation, and I help students read R's error messages rather than guess at them. My focus is on students in statistics and data science coursework and professionals moving into R from Excel or another language.
Statistics

Statistics

I hold an MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, where the core coursework was applied statistics: probability distributions, sampling, hypothesis testing, regression, and experimental design. I have spent 19 years applying those methods to real operational and financial data as an analyst and Continuous Improvement Manager at Lutron Electronics, FIS, and DP World, running variance analysis, control charts, capability studies, and regression models that inform business decisions. My tutoring covers descriptive statistics, probability, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, t-tests and ANOVA, chi-square, correlation and regression, and non-parametric alternatives, using Excel, R, or Python depending on what the course requires. I focus on the reasoning behind each procedure, since students who understand why a test assumes what it assumes stop guessing at which test to run.

MBA Operations Analysis

Sinan is truly AMAZING !!! He is very very very detailed in his explanations which will make you feel as though you have become a subject matter expert after his teaching session. He is very thorough in both his analysis and explanations and is able to break down each and every concept and methodology in practical terms and provide ways that you can directly apply such methodologies to everyday life and or work. He provides additionally questions to better enhance your learning, understanding and retention and is very open to answering any additional questions that you may have after your session. He is exceptionally organized and thorough in his lesson plan and truly provide an atmosphere where most professors are even unable to do so due to capacity strains. Sinan is truly remarkable in not only the statistical space but also academia as if all professors taught subjects as such so seamlessly there would be minimal to no error on the students behalf. I strongly advise booking sessions with Sinan as he does a terrific job articulating highly technical methodologies and allows room for various questions and further learning and development. I hope each and every student encounters an instructor that teaches and advises with such care, precision and tenacity.
