Hello! My name is Taylor, and I am a medical student with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding of challenging material, and achieve their academic goals.

My strongest tutoring areas are Anatomy, Biology, Physiology, and other life sciences. I have studied anatomy and biological sciences extensively at the undergraduate, graduate, and medical school levels, and I enjoy helping students connect concepts rather than simply memorize information. Whether you are taking Anatomy & Physiology, General Biology, Human Anatomy, or preparing for an exam in a health science program, I can help break complex topics into manageable pieces and develop effective study strategies.

Throughout my academic career, I have worked with students in both one-on-one and group settings. As a Biology Peer Mentor, I helped college students review course material, strengthen study skills, and prepare for exams. I have experience working with students across a variety of educational levels, from elementary school through college.

For elementary and middle school students, I provide support in math, science, reading, study skills, and academic enrichment. I also worked on a child development research study focused on how children learn, particularly in mathematics and reading. This experience reinforced the importance of adapting instruction to each student's individual learning style and developmental needs.

My tutoring philosophy is centered on patience, encouragement, and understanding. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging with the material. Whether a student is mastering foundational concepts, preparing for a major exam, improving study habits, or overcoming academic challenges, my goal is to help them become confident, independent learners.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

As a medical student with a strong background in mathematics and science, I regularly apply Algebra 1 concepts such as equations, functions, graphing, ratios, exponents, and problem-solving. I have experience tutoring and mentoring students in both one-on-one and small-group settings, helping them build confidence while developing a deeper understanding of the material. My approach focuses on identifying knowledge gaps, strengthening foundational skills, and breaking complex concepts into manageable steps. I believe students learn best when they understand the “why” behind a solution, not just how to get the answer. I can assist students with core Algebra 1 topics including linear equations and inequalities, systems of equations, graphing, functions, exponents, polynomials, factoring, radicals, and word problems. My goal is to help students improve their grades, strengthen their problem-solving abilities, and feel confident as they progress into higher-level math courses.
Biology

Biology

I am currently a medical student with a strong academic background in Biology and biomedical sciences. My coursework and training have included cell biology, genetics, microbiology, physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, and pathophysiology. I use these concepts daily in my medical education and understand how challenging college-level biology courses can be. I have experience mentoring and tutoring students with different learning styles and enjoy helping students build confidence by breaking complex topics into understandable concepts. My goal is to help students not only succeed on exams but also develop a deeper understanding of the material through effective study strategies and active learning techniques.
Physiology

Physiology

I am currently a medical student and have completed extensive coursework in physiology, anatomy, pathophysiology, and related biomedical sciences. Physiology is a subject I continue to use daily in my medical education, from cardiovascular and respiratory physiology to renal, endocrine, and neurophysiology. In addition to my coursework, I have experience tutoring and mentoring students with diverse learning styles. My goal is not only to help students memorize concepts, but also to understand the underlying mechanisms so they can apply physiology to exams and future coursework. I enjoy breaking down complex topics into manageable, easy-to-understand concepts and helping students develop effective study strategies for success.

Excellent Anatomy Tutor

Taylor has helped me tremendously with both Anatomy Lecture and Anatomy Lab. She breaks down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand explanations and makes sure I truly understand the material. One thing I really appreciate is that she encourages me to explain concepts back to her, which helps with active recall and reinforces my learning. Because of her teaching style, I was able to improve my understanding and pass my quiz. She is patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely cares about her students success. I highly recommend Taylor to anyone needing help with anatomy or other health science courses.
