Experienced Mathematics Tutor in Topics Up to Calculus

Hello everyone! I am Eloise! I am currently an undergraduate student at The George Washington University majoring in Mathematics. Prior to college, I always found myself fascinated by the application of mathematics in the real world. From breaking down patterns to analyzing the economy, math is everywhere. I look to always include these physical applications in my teaching as I find that generating a robust understanding of mathematical concepts begins by seeing how they work.
I have two years of prior mathematics tutoring experience. I have worked with middle and high school students in a variety of topics ranging from Pre-Algebra all of the way to Calculus. I typically work one-on-one with students as I find each student learns differently and needs a unique approach to help them grasp concepts. Being a struggling mathematics student myself at times, I find that a supportive environment and patient instructors allow for students to best learn and grow. I am always willing to go the extra mile for students, whether it be diving deeper into concepts, providing real world examples students can visualize, or simply walking students through practice problems.
My goal as a tutor is to not only assist students in the mathematical abilities, but also ensure that they can enjoy what they are doing. Although comprehension can be difficult at times, I will remain supportive and friendly, making sure that students can have fun while learning.
