Hi everyone, my name is Maddie and I'm a junior undergraduate at George Washington University in Washington, DC! Hi everyone, my name is Maddie and I'm a junior undergraduate at George Washington University in Washington, DC! I am currently pursuing double majors in International Affairs and Economics as well as a minor in French, and I have maintained a GPA of 3.96. This upcoming spring I will be attending a semester abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France, so I hope to tutor while I am home in Camp Hill for an extended winter break.
Before entering college, my favorite classes throughout K-12 were English and Mathematics. Growing up, I have always enjoyed helping my friends with their coursework -- especially in these areas, which sometimes came more naturally to me than to my classmates. I found that by listening and understanding their confusion, I could help find ways to make tricky concepts simpler. While I have little formal tutoring experience, I am more than confident in my ability to listen, emphasize, and commit to helping students achieve in the ways that I know they can.
My previous experience babysitting (in which I am American Red Cross certified) for various families (with children 5 - 13 years old) throughout my time in high school has also taught me valuable lessons in patience. I believe that as a tutor I can channel a sense of calmness and composure that is necessary for a conducive learning environment.
