As a special education teacher, I have experience working with students with disabilities. So if you are nervous about finding a tutor because of your student's exceptionalities, then I am your girl! I would love to help your child grow to love learning, and empower them to know that they are capable of being a good student!
As your child's tutor, I would target your students needs and come prepared with a lesson to work on that day. If another problem area arises during our session, I would be sure to address it immediately, if possible, and continue that skill at our next session. Many skills, especially in math and reading, build on each other, so I would not let something slip by if that is a need for your child. An hour is a long session, so I would be sure to add in a quick brain-break or two so your student doesn't get overwhelmed and is able to stay focused.
