Greetings. My name is Marc and I currently work for WesBanco as a data scientist. Prior to taking that job in 2021, I was a mathematics professor for over 30 years. I have a Ph.D. and teaching experience at community colleges, four-year liberal arts colleges and universities. I was a “math dad” at the public schools when my kids were young. I enjoy helping students of all levels understand math and reach their potential.
In addition to my math degree, somewhere along the line I earned a Master’s degree in music. I am also a member of the “grammar police,” and I believe that good communication skills are at least as important in mathematics as in any other subject.
Over the years I have taught almost every math course offered at colleges, from elementary algebra, trigonometry and statistics through the upper-level courses in the mathematics major. I have helped students prepare for standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT and GRE, taught calculus to high-achieving high school students, and have been an AP Calculus Reader for 9 years.
