Bio

I attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA for 4 years as an undergraduate Music Performance major, focusing on the oboe. I attended the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts High School as well.

I attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA for 4 years as an undergraduate Music Performance major, focusing on the oboe. I attended the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts High School as well.

Professionally, I “double” on most of the woodwinds including the flutes, clarinets, and saxophones. I have over 15 years of performance experience and 10 years of experience teaching private lessons. During my time in high school, I took AP Music Theory and discovered a love and skill for theory. I received a 5 overall in the test (5 aural and 5 non-aural).

I would love to help any student of any age (even adults!) improve their skills in music, whether that be for personal enjoyment, for your AP class, or to nail your placement audition at school!

Having performed for over 10 years as a woodwind doubler, I have gained extensive experience in the clarinet. I am mostly self taught at the clarinet, but I also have 2 years of private lessons I took while at Carnegie Mellon University. I also have 8+ years of experience teaching the clarinet privately to students of all ages.
Ear Training

I have extensive knowledge of the music world and music theory. While attending Carnegie Mellon University to pursue a degree in music, I took many courses that assisted in my ear training including: four levels of solfège, four levels of standard music theory, four semesters of dalcroze eurhythmics, and many more . I have a great understanding of the subject and would love to help anyone who wants to improve their abilities!
