Ever since I was a child, I have enjoyed helping others succeed. Now I have had the pleasure to teach at Messiah College as an Adjunct Professor, teaching First Year Composition, Introduction to Biblical Studies, and Introduction to Christian Theology.
As a Writing Tutor, I can take the mystery out of essay writing. Learn the tried and true methods and techniques of writing excellent assignments. Learn what English teachers and college professors are really looking for in student work.
I hold a Master's degree in Religion from Yale with a specialization in philosophy of religion, but my coursework also covered biblical studies and general philosophy. Apart from my collegiate experiences teaching these topics, I have also shared my expertise to local churches through Biblical preaching, teaching Bible study methods, and developing discipleship classes. Whether you are a student wanting to improve in Bible, theology, or philosophy, or simply an adult interested in learning about these topics from a reputable teacher, I can help.
I am flexible with my available hours, but I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
There is space for lessons at my home, but I am willing to travel to your home or to a central location.

I have taught college writing courses and was an undergraduate writing tutor for three years. I have also taught Introduction to the Bible and have tutored individuals interested in the Bible from high school students to pastors.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took Biblical Studies courses in undergrad and graduate school. I taught three sections of Encountering the Bible (formerly Introduction to Biblical Studies) over two semesters at Messiah College as an Adjunct Instructor. I developed and taught a youth Bible Study program, and have developed and taught adult Bible Study material.
I focus on teaching the rules of grammar by explaining how they help communicate ideas clearly to the reader.
I have a BA in philosophy and a MA from Yale in Religion with a specialization in philosophy of religion. I tutor philosophy through connecting difficult concepts to metaphors and by showing how various philosophers are connected to each other.
I taught multiple college writing composition courses, and when I was a student, I was a writing tutor for three years. As a writing tutor, I had many ESL students whose main areas of concern were matters of proofreading.
I taught college writing composition for 2 years and was an undergraduate writing tutor for 3 years. I focus on teaching writing with purpose. This entails, at a minimum, teaching organization, argumentation, thesis development, transitions, citation, grammar, and punctuation.
