These experiences adjusted my baseline understandings regarding how to best work with my pupils while simultaneously entrenching myself in deep and cross-cultural understanding. Taking from my undergraduate coursework involving literature, writing, and linguistics (English, Latin, and Spanish), I constantly allowed myself to grow both culturally and linguistically. I have an English degree from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.
Through these milestones, I have learned that international education goes beyond rote linguistic memorization exercises. 7 years had me serve as a cultural ambassador; I know well that role (especially in daily life). Pupils need understanding. They need mentors who care.
I have lived in countries wherein I have had no meaningful linguistic parallels. I know as an adult what it is to be utterly alien. In this world of limited communicative capabilities, I am versed in higher-level writing as well as basic communication.
