I’m a PhD student in High Energy and Nuclear Physics at Lehigh University, where I’ve taught over 100 college students through labs and recitations. My tutoring style focuses on visual intuition, clear reasoning, and step-by-step problem-solving—not rote memorization. Whether you're preparing for an exam or trying to catch up on difficult material, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build real understanding.

I also support intermediate and upper-level physics courses such as Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics, and Mathematical Methods in Physics.

Calculus

Calculus

While my teaching experience is primarily in Physics, it is important to remember that Calculus was initially invented as a tool for doing Physics. I have taught undergraduate recitation sections applications of core Calculus concepts, providing physical motivation for the mathematical definitions of derivatives, integrals, and power series. Having taken Honors Math 1 (Math 295) at the University of Michigan, I also have familiarity with a proof-based, formal approach to Calculus, including topics such as: the epsilon-delta definition of limits, continuity, topological spaces, and others.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

Differential equations is the natural language of Physics, which means that I have had to become comfortable with using them throughout the course of my undergraduate and graduate education. Differential equations concepts I am familiar with include linear equations, separable equations, exact equations, second order equations (homogeneous and non-homogeneous), initial value problems, undetermined coefficients, boundary value problems in partial differential equations, fourier series solutions, separation of variables, and others.
Physics

Physics

I completed my bachelor's degree in physics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I have taught 3 semesters of introductory physics laboratory and recitation at Lehigh University, where I am currently a PhD student. My research focuses on the quark gluon plasma, a state of matter thought to predominate in our universe for around the first 10 nanoseconds of its existence.
Quantum Physics

Quantum Physics

I have taken the standard undergraduate Quantum Mechanics course at the University of Michigan as part of my bachelors degree. As a part of my PhD coursework at Lehigh University, I have taken Quantum Mechanics 1 and 2 and received A's in both. My research focuses on experimental probes of Quantum Chromodynamics, which is the theory that describes the interactions of quarks and gluons--fundamental particles that comprise protons, neutrons, and other composite particles.

Able to tackle advanced physics problems and conveys concepts clearly

Needed help reviewing for a college-level Lagrangian Dynamics exam. Had trouble finding a tutor who was able to tackle such a challenging physics course but Evan is very knowledgeable and is adaptable to my learning style. I have not been able to follow along well in lectures, however, throughout sessions Evan has conveyed concepts so clearly that I am now able to understand it. He even draws connections to other physics concepts to deepen my understanding. Highly recommend if you need help with any advanced physics courses!

Outstanding Knowledgable Tutor Who Is Patient and Prioritizes True Understanding

Evan is an amazing tutor. He takes his time to ensure you truly understand the material, explaining concepts in multiple ways if you’re deeply confused. I really appreciate how patient and thorough he is, always making sure I grasp not just how to solve a question, but the full concept and reasoning behind it. His approach has made a huge difference in my confidence and understanding with physics. Highly recommend!

Knows his stuff, and eager to explain challenging concepts

Evan was a great tutor; he helped me understand tough topics that I didn't understand the first time, and he explained the whole picture, which helped put everything into place. It's obvious he knows his stuff and does his best to make you understand and not just tell you the answer straight away, but he is always there to help if needed. Would certainly ask Evan to tutor again.
