I've been passionate about art for as long as I can remember. I've been passionate about art for as long as I can remember. I went to the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts as a Visual Art major where I received a classical, academic-style training in painting and drawing. I received the Outstanding Visual Artist award upon graduation and was a member of the National Art Honors Society as well as a recipient of a Gold Key at the 2010 Scholastic Art Awards. After high school, I attended a summer course with Alyssa Monks in Brooklyn, NY. I went on to Kutztown University where I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in May 2015 While at KU, I was Co-director of Eckhaus Gallery where we hosted art exhibits, music events, and children's summer camps. I also received a Marguerite Bierman Grant which allowed me to study twice a week with Bethlehem artist Sandra Corpora during my Spring 2015 semester.
After graduation, I was included in the Bethlehem House Contemporary Gallery Spring show and was Artist-in-residence at Hawk Mountain for three months. I illustrated a children's book during my residency and will be teaching a drawing workshop for high school age and older this coming July. I am primarily a figurative and portrait painter, but I also do a lot of ink drawings and graphite sketches.
I have had 8 years of formal art training and am very experienced in proportions and perspective, especially with the human figure. I have done over 60 pet portraits in the last year and have an upcoming show of pet portraits at The Kemmerer Museum in Bethlehem this July. I have had my work on display in various galleries constantly since graduating from college.
I truly love encouraging young artists and hope I can share the tools and tricks I've learned from all the amazing teachers I've had over the years. I am so passionate about art making and cannot imagine a life without it. I am easygoing and hope to help budding artists follow their creative drive while also sharing the foundations of art history and classical drawing techniques.
