I'm a software engineer at a Fintech company where I build backend systems for card issuing. Before that, I was a backend software engineer at a large bank. I worked on their scheduled transfers platform, enabling hundreds of millions of dollars to be reliably moved every day. And before that, I was at SAP building both backend and machine learning systems.

I hold my undergraduate degree from Temple University, where I studied computer science and mathematics. While in school, I spent a year working in deep learning research for computer vision. I also spent two years teaching AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles at a local high school. I have an AWS Associate Solutions Architect certification.

I'd love to get to know you and understand your learning goals and how I can help you meet them. And if I can't, I'd love to point you in the right direction!

Here's some of the topics I can help with: programming languages (Python, Java, Ruby, C, and some others), computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, etc.), software engineering (patterns/antipatterns, system design, interviewing, cloud computing), databases (SQL, Mongo, Neo4j, etc.), and data science/machine learning.

I taught myself how to program in C when I was 14. Since then, I've used C both in coursework and for personal projects. This includes projects like a networked spell checker, linear algebra problem set generator, and an esoteric programming language interpreter. I continue to work in C for personal use and in C-family languages as a software engineer intern.

Patient and brilliant genius!

I recommend Yaki as a tutor to everyone! He is kind, patient, understanding, humble, and honest. Oh, and did I mention that he is a brilliant genius! Yaki helped me through one of the scariest moments of my career. I was tasked with writing an API script despite my complete lack of experience with APIs. Yaki provided the solution I needed while guiding me throughout the process. You'll be happy you picked Yaki!

I have had about 7 or 8 lessons so far with Yaki. He’s extremely patient and easing going. Breaks things down for me to understand and answers every question. Sometimes things are hard for me to comprehend the first time around so he is taking the time to make sure i truly understand what he is teaching me. He has also recommended multiple resources for me to study from which has been beyond helpful. Hes made engaging which is a big help for me

Excellent communicator

Taught me to problem solve which is an important part of python programming. He also help guide me to the answer instead of just doing the work for me. I will definitely recommend him to anyone that is struggling to understand certain concepts. Sometimes all it takes is for the information to be presented in a certain way for them to click. He is good at this.
