Hello! I’m Holly and I am a graduate-level Early Childhood Educator with professional certification and training in MBE-informed instructional strategies.

I’ve learned that the best learning experiences don’t just come from what is being taught, but from how it is taught. The educators who impacted me most were the ones who made material clear, engaging, and approachable and who took the time to support students beyond the lesson itself. I bring that same mindset into my tutoring approach, making sure students feel comfortable, understood, and capable every step of the way.

I specialize in English instruction, with a focus on literacy, writing, and language development. My lessons are structured but flexible: I introduce concepts in engaging, creative ways, provide clear direct instruction, and always include time for guided and independent practice so students can build real confidence with the material. My approach is always adjusted to meet each learner’s individual needs and learning style.

I also have classroom experience working directly with students who needed additional academic support, including small-group and one-on-one instruction. This has strengthened my ability to identify learning gaps quickly and provide targeted, effective support that helps students stay on track and grow.

My goal is simple: to make learning English feel less overwhelming and more achievable. I prioritize patience, encouragement, and clear instruction so students not only improve their skills but also feel more confident in themselves as learners.

I welcome communication with parents and students and am always open to feedback, resources, or specific learning goals. I respond promptly and am happy to answer questions or schedule a session.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and over 10 years of experience working with young learners. I specialize in building strong foundational skills in literacy, math, and social-emotional development through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction. My background includes both classroom teaching and small-group support, allowing me to tailor lessons to each child’s needs. I focus on creating a supportive environment where children build confidence and a love of learning.
Phonics

Phonics

I have a strong understanding of how children learn to read through sound-symbol relationships and apply this daily in my teaching. I use explicit, step-by-step strategies to help students confidently decode words and build independence in reading. My experience in early childhood education allows me to make phonics instruction engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate. I focus on building a strong literacy foundation that supports long-term reading success.
Spelling

Spelling

I have extensive experience supporting early writers as they develop strong spelling skills through structured, developmentally appropriate instruction. I teach students to recognize patterns, sound-letter relationships, and common spelling rules rather than relying solely on memorization. My early childhood education background allows me to make spelling instruction engaging, interactive, and accessible for young learners. I focus on helping students build confidence and accuracy as they grow as independent writers.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

I support students in building a strong vocabulary by helping them connect new words to meaningful experiences and prior knowledge. I use age-appropriate strategies such as read-alouds, discussion, and context clues to help students understand and use new words confidently. It is my goal to make vocabulary instruction fun, engaging, interactive, and accessible for young learners. I focus on helping students become thoughtful communicators who can use rich language in speaking and writing.
