Hi, my name is Pat and I'm an experienced tutor in the Main Line, PA area who has taught students in Math and Physics for over 2 years. I specialize in individual instruction and I enjoy working with students of all types and levels. I'm typically able to help your student achieve at least one letter grade improvement in the subject they need help with.

My unique strengths as a tutor are my personality and my patience. I'm easygoing and I don't mind explaining concepts 5 different times in 5 different ways. If your student hasn't had success with other tutors before, chances are they will find success working with me! I find that the most common obstacle students face in Math and Science is not academic: it is lack of self-belief. I help students believe in themselves and their own learning style and move toward an A!

I've helped students go from dreading math to confidently achieving high scores. My most recent success was an elementary student who hated tutoring and was highly resistant to learning. After 8 weeks, we saw letter grade improvements in Math and Reading, and he told me he wanted to keep tutoring during the summer! These are the types of success stories that make tutoring worthwhile for me.

My background is a unique mix of the sciences and the liberal arts. I have a Bachelor's in Engineering Science and my early career was in web development. As an engineering student, I had to master math concepts up to Calc 3 and beyond. Therefore, I understand high school math (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalc and Calc) very well. I'm qualified to teach high school Physics and enjoy this subject. I'm also a strong academic writer and received praise from English, History and Philosophy professors for my college essays.
