Hi, I'm Dominic!
I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and an Associate of Science in Pre-Pharmacy, along with minors in Mathematics and Biology, from Pennsylvania Western University–California (formerly CalU). In August 2025, I’ll begin my PhD in Chemistry at Indiana University Bloomington.

One of the most rewarding parts of college for me was forming lasting friendships and working alongside incredible professors who challenged and supported me. Now, I’m excited to pay it forward by helping others reach their academic goals in science and math.

During my undergraduate years, I worked as a Supplemental Instruction Leader—a role that allowed me to guide students through high-fail-rate courses like General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Calculus. I’ve spent over three years leading both small group sessions and full-classroom reviews (up to 40 students), helping students not only pass their courses but truly understand the material.

My tutoring approach is highly adaptable: I tailor each session to the student's needs, focusing on clarity, accessibility, and critical thinking. Whether it’s building foundational concepts or tackling complex problems, I aim to make learning feel achievable and even enjoyable.

I welcome questions, suggestions, and feedback—during or between sessions—and I strive to create a collaborative and encouraging learning environment. If you're looking for someone who combines subject mastery with a student-centered approach, I’d love to work with you. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session. I look forward to helping you succeed!

Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I have written several hundred pages if essays, reports, and research papers during my undergraduate career. I have honed my expertise in crafting paragraphs, designing charts and other figures, and proofreading sentences to ensure quality work. I also have taken various honors English writing courses in my time in undergraduate college, and therefore have a variety of experience in writing in multiple fields.
Praxis

Praxis

I have applied scientific praxis through a combination of coursework and hands-on research. In my undergraduate lab courses, I not only followed standard procedures but also analyzed sources of error and proposed improvements, deepening my understanding of chemical principles in practice. During my 2024 REU at the University of Pittsburgh, I independently designed experiments, interpreted complex data, and adjusted protocols based on literature comparisons and unexpected results — a process that required continual reflection and application of upper-level chemistry knowledge. In my year-long undergraduate research project, I regularly refined methodologies by critically assessing outcomes, troubleshooting inconsistencies, and drawing on both theory and mentor feedback to optimize experimental design. These experiences allowed me to integrate theory with practice in a meaningful, reflective, and iterative way, embodying scientific praxis.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I attended an honors level public speaking course in college where I contributed one of the best speeches. In addition to this course, I have presented my research at my college four times in a poster setting. I gave an oral presentation at the Central Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society, where I was approached by several recruiters. I also presented my research in poster sessions at NCUR Pittsburgh 2025 and PittCon 2025. I am an experienced presenter and am often given praise for my ability to speak publicly.
