I'm Robert and I graduated with a degree in Chemistry from college and with a Masters degree in Physical Chemistry in graduate school where I did research using lasers to study chemical reactions. I have always loved math and science. My mom was a math major in college and was also a match teacher and tutor. I think I got my love of teaching and tutoring from her and I really enjoy being able to take difficult subjects and helping other people understand them. I also know that the subjects that I enjoyed in school had to much to do with the teachers, their love for teaching, and their enjoyment of the subjects they were teaching. I have learned that everyone has different learning styles and that sometimes I have to be able to present things in different and creative ways for someone to understand it. The more I am able to take a subject and make it fun, interesting, and relevant, the more likely it is that someone else may understand it.
My mom always told me that math was like a language and that there are many different ways of communicating it. I have been tutoring all levels of math since I was in high school. Over the years, I have realized that there are always different ways of approaching problems - there is not always only one correct method. I will always take the time to come up with multiple methods to teach and present solutions until someone understands it.
I remember my high school chemistry teacher because she made everything fun - even to the point of holding extra classes to help us further explore concepts make them practical. I have been tutoring Chemistry since high school and have taught Chemistry at both the high school and college level. I know that Chemistry can be challenging at first, but I have the patience and experience to explain the concepts in such a way to make them practical and fun.
I want to help students learn and master Chemistry and Math - which can often at first seem like difficult and intimidating subjects. Please contact me with any questions
