I am very passionate about the student's interest in learning another language (I speak 4 languages) and honor their interest by offering a really caring approach: learning a foreign language widens perspectives and knowledge.

In only 10 weeks of lessons with Luciana, we covered topics in the Italian language that took me almost 3 years to learn in Spanish and French classes in high school. Luciana’s ability to clearly explain complex Italian grammar was unbelievably helpful. While I put in a lot of time learning new verbs and vocabulary on my own before our lessons in person or on Skype, Luciana helped shape everything I learned into usable language skills. I started this summer knowing absolutely no Italian, and now I feel like I have a huge base of knowledge to build on when I go to study in Italy this semester thanks to Luciana!

It was a lovely lesson. We introduced ourselves, and Luciana asked me about the areas I would like to improve in. I told her that I would like to improve my ability to speak about abstract ideas and hypothetical situations (using the subjunctive). We also talked about a novel I'm reading in Italian, and we clarified the meaning of some words and phrases. Luciana has sent me some grammar and reading/listening activities. I found it very useful and look forward to the next lesson.
