I graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology along a pre-medical track, where I built a strong foundation in the sciences and discovered how much I enjoy helping others learn. During my time there, I served as a Learning Assistant for two semesters in the Physics Lab I and II courses, guiding students through experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting lab techniques. I also informally tutored peers in challenging courses like organic chemistry and biochemistry, which taught me how to simplify complex concepts and adjust my teaching style to different learning approaches.

My passion for educational equity deepened during my year volunteering with FORA (Forging Opportunities for Refugees of America), where I tutored elementary-age students in reading and math to strengthen their academic confidence and English fluency. More recently, I’ve spent six months with Varsity Tutors teaching 1-1 SAT preparation to high school students. My approach centers on building trust, understanding each student’s challenges, identifying their strengths, and tailoring lessons to meet their individual needs. I encourage questions, remain adaptable, and aim to create an open space where students feel comfortable seeking help. This empathy-driven approach has consistently led to results, with my students improving their SAT scores by an average of 100–200 points. I now hope to transition to a platform that values individuality and connection, where I can continue helping students learn with confidence and curiosity.
