Justin is a lifelong musician and educator with a passion for helping singers discover their best voices. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Choral Conducting and Music Education from Chapman University and later completed a master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Portland State University. For 15 years, Justin taught high school choral music, inspiring young singers to grow in confidence, artistry, and musical skill.
Beyond the classroom, Justin has led choirs that have gained international recognition. Most notably, he conducted the Westminster Chorus to the title of Choir of the World in 2009 at the prestigious Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales. Under his direction, Westminster also won the International Championship of the Barbershop Harmony Society three times and performed at major conferences and concert series across the globe. Today, Justin directs VocalSummit, an award-winning men’s chorus based in Portland, Oregon.
In addition to his work with ensembles, Justin is a sought-after voice teacher, vocal coach, arranger, and clinician. His approach to private lessons is student-centered, focusing on each singer’s unique goals and musical interests—whether that’s Musical Theatre, Pop, Classical, Jazz, or anything in between. With his depth of experience and supportive teaching style, Justin helps singers build healthy technique, gain confidence, and experience the joy of making music.
