I have always loved to learn and to help students achieve their goals. For more than 20 years, I taught immunology, microbiology, molecular and cellular biology, and biochemistry to medical and graduate students as a professor and research scientist in a medical school. My graduate students have honored me with an award for Teaching Excellence, and my colleagues have selected me for induction into the Academy of Master Teachers at my university. I was also given the title of Distinguished Teaching Professor. While working as a professor and scientist, I have also tutored high school students in Math and Science and advised students on science fair projects. I am enthusiastic about working with students at all levels.

In addition to tutoring Math and Science on the high school, college, and graduate level, I have specialized in tutoring for the ACT, SAT, and GRE; I will not only teach the subject, but also coach the student on strategies that can be used under the time pressure of the test.

Extensive experience as an author of scientific research and review articles, and book chapters, and as a reviewer and editor for several scientific journals allows me to be an effective tutor for English writing and reading. I am a native German speaker and thus can provide proofreading for any text in English or German.

At the middle and high school level, I specialize in tutoring MATH and SCIENCE including preparation for the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) assessment and GED, and college entrance exams.

At the college level, I tutor scientific writing, statistics, immunology, microbiology, molecular/cellular biology, and biochemistry. I also prepare students for the GRE and MCAT.

At the graduate school level, I tutor students in scientific writing, research design, and data analysis and presentation. I am also experienced with the requirements of graduate nursing programs and have worked with many nursing students.

My goal for each tutoring session is to challenge the student and provide guidance in pro

Fantastic tutor!

Rolf helped me prepare for the GRE for several weeks. Not only his tutoring helped me boost my Quantitative score by a lot, but he was always on time, patient, and friendly. We had a great experience where he helped me master different math concepts, while keeping me motivated for a ,sometimes, tedious exam. He also gave me advice me through different aspects of the process application for Grad School, counseling me on my Statement of Purpose, and my Curriculum Vitae. I thank him very much for his effort and would highly recommend him.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor who suits his student's needs well

He walked me through my first scientific paper in-depth and really took the time to patiently describe every term that I did not understand. I found the lesson with him very helpful, and I feel more confident now.

Excellent

This is my second lesson with Rolf, he is super smart and explains things clearly. He is always on time and willing to give extra time to the student. He can help you but not give you the answer directly, makes you use your mind.

Rolf is a knowledgeable, well-informed tutor.

He taught me Confidence Interval and clear areas I found difficult with biostatistics principles. He is patient and kind. Rolf will accomplish your goals and is thorough. He reviewed my literature review, the suggestions were informative, succinct and efficacious. The professor was pleasantly surprised. His comments improved my insight. I would recommend Rolf to others wanting to improve their skills. 10/10+

Very Helpful Statistics Tutor

Rolf was able to assist me in troubleshooting a data analysis function within excel for two statistics models. The analysis that Rolf performed confirmed my suspicion that it appears my professor made an error, so my efforts to replicate a sample would never have been successful. The reassurance from Rolf was nice in that I was doing everything correctly. I highly recommend Rolf for anything to do with statistics.
