Hello, my name is Halie! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Portland State with a bachelors of science in liberal studies and an English minor. Before that, I completed my associates degree at Clackamas Community College, where I took primarily English and writing courses. I currently work in libraries--helping folks access and understand information is my job, and I am experienced in helping people build confidence in processing and using written materials while still maintaining a collaborative approach.
My strongest sharing subjects are in English and writing; I have successfully assisted other students with essay writing through reviewing material and creating unique 'battle plans.' I like to help people think about the way they write and learn to approach the process with flexible styles to make essays less of a regimented pain. With that said, I'm also comfortable teaching students the standard format of most high school papers (like five paragraph essays), and am educated in creative writing as well (poetry too!). If you're feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of researching and formulating a paper, I'd love to help you not just get started, but learn the skills to succeed in your next project as well!
