With over 20 years of experience in elementary and middle school special education classrooms, I bring a deep understanding of how to support diverse learners in developing strong reading skills. My career has been dedicated to helping students build confidence, independence, and a genuine love for reading. Currently, as a virtual special education teacher at an online charter school, I have refined my ability to engage students in a digital setting, using interactive and personalized approaches that keep learners motivated and connected.

My training reflects a strong foundation in evidence-based literacy instruction. I have completed the Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Plus training, with a focus on fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education. In addition, I am trained in Speech-to-Print reading intervention, which emphasizes the connection between spoken and written language to accelerate reading development. My background also includes specialized instruction in supporting students with diverse needs in the virtual setting, ensuring that every session is accessible, structured, and effective.

Beyond reading instruction, I bring a well-rounded approach shaped by advanced training in Differentiated Instruction, SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol), and Math Standards and Assessment. I understand how to tailor lessons to each student's unique learning style while maintaining high expectations.

Families can expect a patient, engaging, and highly qualified tutor who not only teaches reading skills, but also empowers students to become confident, capable learners.

I look forward to partnering with new families and celebrating each milestone as our students transform into life-long readers.

I am highly qualified to tutor students with dyslexia through a combination of extensive classroom experience and specialized, evidence-based reading intervention training. Over the past 18 years as a public school special education resource teacher, I have provided individualized, small-group, and co-teaching instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including those with dyslexia. My professional training includes IMSE's Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham Plus Training (30 hours), IMSE's Fluency, Vocabulary, Comprehension course (3 hours), and Reading Simplified's Speech-to-Print Reading Intervention course (12 hours), equipping me with research-based strategies to support struggling readers. In my current full-time role as a virtual middle school special education teacher, I continue to provide targeted reading instruction and academic support to students with dyslexia through one-on-one, small-group, and co-teaching models.

I am highly qualified to tutor students in kindergarten through sixth grade, with extensive experience supporting elementary learners in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I have completed professional development in Math Standards and Assessments and Differentiated Instruction, equipping me to meet the diverse learning needs of elementary students.
