My first career was as a research scientist and my favorite research was working to develop a Blood Substitute. I also worked for a short time right out of college as a nuclear chemist and on biological warfare-so I have various real life experiences to draw on. In my free time I worked with youth from my Church and Boy Scouts and finally switched careers to become a teacher so I could pass on my passion for science to the next generation.

I taught at a College Preparatory School in suburban Chicago for 6 years teaching Chemistry, AP Chemistry and General Science working with freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. I moved to Southern Oregon last year to build a house in the woods and experience my Walden. But I miss working with youth and I feel I have can help demystify science and even make it very exciting for students.
