I’m a college student pursuing a career in teaching. I have tutored students ages five to seventeen years in and out of the classroom. This includes two years of experience as a volunteer teacher’s assistant in Beaverton School District (BSD) classes, an additional two years of experience as a BSD group tutoring facilitator, as well as two years running an independent tutoring business. I currently provide individualized one-on-one tutoring services to students in their homes, at the library, or at local coffee shops. Right now, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tutoring may be conducted online via Zoom or other technology.
I am student-driven. I meet my students where they are academic, with patience and compassion. I want my students to feel seen and heard in regard to their struggles. I follow their pace, gradually building their confidence as I help them acquire new academic strategies and skills.
You will find that I’m warm, personable, and easy to work with. I genuinely care about my students, and I want to see them grow and master their subject matter. I communicate with parents regularly to ensure satisfaction with the tutoring process. When appropriate and with parent consent, I speak with my student’s teacher to gain a broader understanding of the student’s curriculum, current participation, and areas for advancement. When invited, I have also attended parent-teacher conferences.
I look forward to speaking with you in more detail to learn how I can serve the needs of you and your child.
