I started playing guitar at about age 9, when my mom got tired of buying me a plastic ukulele every week. My father was a well-respected Modern Jazz guitar player, so I learned from him. I now also play Fender Bass, alto, tenor and baritone Saxophones, and am currently writing charts for a four-piece horn section for The Sensational Elvis Nagel Experience (band). I have copyrighted some individual tunes, as well as a folio of my material. I have written and performed dozens of songs, and generally, people like what they hear. Currently, I'm assembling a handful of original music and some favorites by others, to launch my own band
I love to tell others about some of the things I know ("teaching") and have developed some printed material to support this.
Of course, I sing also.
I continue to write and perform my own compositions, as well as perform standard favorites by others. I plan to copyright and market the horn charts I am working on right now.
Most people enjoy my diplomacy, humor and insight into the realities of the music business. My friend, Charles Comer (dc'd) said the business could be dehumanizing, and he always tried to keep the human element present in his work with The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the Chieftains. Contact me and tell me about your project, goal and motivation to write music.
