When I was getting my Master's, there was much emphasis on using the skills one learned to acquire the native in the acquisition of the target language. I enjoyed this insight. I even found it useful. As one with a learning disability, I had actually used much of these skills to all my life. We were actually teaching the students to learn how to learn just as much as were teaching them a new language.
I started learning German in Jr. High and discovered it helped me understand English. I continued to learn it in high School. After that I served a Spanish-speaking mission for the LDS Church in Southern California. I then continued my studies in both languages. I had the opportunity to study one Semester in Kiel, Germany. I spent one year as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Utah. I have had ample opportunity in the food service industry to use Spanish.
I am available more often in the evenings, especially earlier in the week. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you learn another language and expand your horizons.
