Before working as a classroom teacher, I worked as a guest teacher for a number of years and taught subjects such as Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies and Language Arts. I have a lot of experience teaching middle school aged students but I feel confident in my mastery in and ability to tutor students in topics (as advanced as) college level History, Economics and Geography as well as (in topics as advanced as) high school Sciences, Algebra and basic Trigonometry.
I believe that teaching and learning is a constant give and take between student and teacher. The one-on-one environment that I’d be providing helps to cultivate this needed exchange. To tutor a student, I will learn about which material a student is having trouble and their preferential learning style. By doing this, and creating individualized aids, the student will be more productive in their learning and succeed in their work.
While working in schools, I taught students with various needs, including those that have been identified as TAG, as well as students with IEP and 504 plans. Individualized education is crucial, so that all students can learn in the most appropriate environment and succeed in their education. I will give your child the individualized education so that they can be successful and reach their potential. By using me as a tutor, you not only get a licensed teacher that is well versed in a variety of subject matter but also someone that can help his students link this information to real life experiences and situations.
