I am Alexis. I was born and raised in a French environment in Central Africa! I did my primary and secondary education in French. Then I moved to an English speaking environment where I learned and continued my education in English reaching a masters level!
I hold a Masters in International Relations from The United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya. This is an accredited university by the Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges(WASC), an institutional accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education.
While in Kenya (East Africa) I taught French to professionals and international organizations personnel, individuals and student in local colleges. My methods consisted of engaging students at their level through conversation, books and notes. I have also worked as a translator and interpreter from English into French for a number of international conferences held in Nairobi, Kenya.
Based on my birth place language, primary and secondary education and job experience in teaching and interpreting, I am confident that I would be a great help as we embark on this journey of learning and speaking together the language of Moliere! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
