About me:
I have a BS in molecular bio from the UC Davis, and completed two years of graduate studies in environmental microbiology at UC Santa Barbara. After grad school, I discovered private tutoring was a great match for my skills. I truly enjoy working with students individually to help them surmount the many challenges school places in their paths.

I have been tutoring and teaching since 2008. I also tutored for the SUN after-school program in Portland, developed several classes for Saturday Academy, and teach SAT classes.

To prepare for ACT english, we will review grammar rules and editing skills. Grammar skills include subject-verb agreement, punctuation, and word choice. We will also discuss time-management and multiple choice strategies. I have tutored students in ACT and SAT test prep for over 9 years, and my students have made dramatic improvements (5-10 points) in the ACT english section.

I have taught several classes in SAT/ACT test prep, and I have helped over 30 students reach their goal scores. I cover SAT/ACT math as well as strategies for the reading and writing sections. I also tutor academic math subjects - Prealgebra, Algebra, and Geometry.
