I'm a writer, philosopher, and pre-licensure clinical psychologist with degrees from Portland State University (BA in Philosophy, University Honors) and Pacifica Graduate Institute (MA in Counseling Psychology). I've published two academic theses and write essays and poetry regularly.
I tutor students in writing, philosophy, and psychology, with a focus on helping you find and develop your own thinking rather than just finishing an assignment. My background in depth psychology and contemplative practice means I'm comfortable with ambiguity, big questions, and the kind of writing that doesn't have a clean five-paragraph structure. This being said, everyone has their own goals, and working alongside you to help you be successful in your work, however that looks for you, is my ultimate aim.
I work well with those who are writing essays, working on big writing projects, trying to understand complex theoretical ideas in philosophy and psychology, and those who would like to learn a deeper set of skills about how to relate to learning in the Humanities itself. If you're interested in developing depth oriented thinking and skills in your writing, philosophy, and/or psychology, then I gladly welcome the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your goals.
