Hi, I’m Peter! I’m a licensed middle school educator with over a decade of experience helping students build confidence and succeed in math. I am currently a lead teacher in the Gresham-Barlow school district and have a special education endorsement (in addition to advanced math), two education-related master's degrees, and over a decade of classroom experience.

I specialize in working with middle school students of all ability levels, including those who feel “stuck,” anxious about math, or need more individualized support than they’re getting in the classroom. I’ve spent years designing lessons, supporting diverse learners, and helping students break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. My approach focuses on building both skills and confidence, so students don’t just get the right answer - they understand how they got there.

I also have extensive experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs, including executive functioning challenges, attention differences, and gaps in foundational skills. I meet students where they are, create a calm and structured learning environment, and help them develop strategies they can use independently.

In addition to my classroom experience, I’ve taken on leadership roles in schools focused on improving instruction, analyzing student learning data, and supporting other teachers in strengthening their practice. I have an Oregon administrator license and aspire to be a school principal someday.

Families can expect clear communication, reliability, and a thoughtful, personalized approach. My goal is always to help students feel more capable, more confident, and more in control of their learning.
